Skyroot Aerospace Achieves Historic Orbital Milestone with Vikram-1 Test Flight
Hyderabad, India – July 18, 2026 – Skyroot Aerospace, India’s pioneering private space technology company, today announced the successful completion of the first test flight of its Vikram-1 orbital launch vehicle, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s space sector.
The Vikram-1 rocket reached its intended orbit following a flawless final burn, injecting its payloads into a approximately 450 km low Earth orbit. This achievement positions India as the third country in the world to demonstrate private orbital launch capability, following the United States and other established players.
